AT, all of these are yours? Really interesting works here... though on the image where Ms King says create pretty things for people to look at... it's an interesting comment but not all things in life are pretty eh? Sometimes we need texture and real to reawaken our thoughts. I'm gonna follow and add your blog to my blog crawl.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot Tracy! Yes, everything on my blog is 100% created by me. Mrs. King was an 85 year old lady I talked to on the phone whilst calling alumni for RISD (where I go to college). She was a really nice woman, who went to RISD back when its most popular majors were textiles and arts education, and when the words I quoted were her last bit of parting advice before the end of our phone conversation. I thought it was such a funny oversimplification of what it means to be an artist, but at the same time very sweet and true in some ways. I do agree that "nice" is different for different people and a lot of the nasty and weird stuff I love to draw may not have appealed to Jean L. King, but I'm glad you're enjoying my work! Thanks for following!
